CC#1: Larry Stylinson

 A recent article written by Ben Harvey for the Huffington Post by the title of "One Direction Bromance or Romance? All Aboard the S.S. Stylinson!", Mr. Harvey explains how Larry Stylinson is real. "Larry shipper's" beliefs, and how the Larry shippers love him for believing in the Stylinson relationship.


After Harvey wrote his article on specifically two of the boys from 1D, he has quoted some of the tweets he has received ever since he typed out this tweet, "After watcheing the "Bible", I tweeted 'OK, I'm on board with you #Larry fans. Whatever is going on between them, is beautiful". Some feedback he received was, "A prophet has spoken" and "Ben Harvey you're my God". People from all over have been sending Ben Harvey multiple tweets on how he is their "hero" and that "an adult finally agrees with their OTP". People on Tumblr have even started making blogs dedicated to him saying things like "he's the only one who works in this business who understands us Larry Believers". The picture that I have placed in this document is one of the several that were sent to Mr. Harvey. Harvey has even stated that, "many believe that there is an orchestrated conspiracy to keep Harry and Louis in the closet, and that Eleanor, Louis' professed girlfriend, is his 'beard'".

I do agree that the two boys that Harvey is mentioning, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, are indeed together and have a happy relationship going on.

I disagree that Ben Harvey is a "God". To me he is just a man that believes that Harry and Louis are in a committed relationship.

A connection that I can make is that I am a Larry shipper myself and I believe in the fact that Styles and Tomlinson are in a relationship and that Eleanor Calder, "Louis' professed girlfriend" is a cover up.

Book Review: The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Ever felt down and don't know exactly how to lift your spirits up? Read The Perks of Being a Wallflower! This book will really change the impact on your life and really get you thinking more. Stephen Chbosky's The Perks of Being a Wallflower really got me thinking with it's touching dramatic events.
The life lesson of this book is that you should always try to look at the bright side of events that happen in your lifetime. Good examples that Charlie describes are: "I feel great! I really mean it. I have to remember this for the next time I'm having a terrible week. Have you ever done that? You feel really bad, and then it goes away, and you don't know why. I try to remind myself when I feel great like this that there will be another terrible week coming someday, so I should store up as many great details as I can, so during the next terrible week, I can remember those details and believe that I'll feel great again. It doesn't work a lot, but I think it's very important to try", "All I hope is that my sister feels beautiful, and her new guy makes her feel beautiful. I hope that Craig doesn't make Sam feel that her prom isn't special just because he's older. I  hope the same for Mary Elizabeth and Peter. I hope Brad and Patrick decide to makeup and dance in front of the whole school. And that Alice is secretly a lesbian and in love with Brad's girlfriend Nancy (and vice versa), so nobody feels left out", and "Basically, Craig had been cheating on Sam ever since they started going out...I never once thought that it would mean Sam might start liking me. All I cared about was the fact that Sam got really hurt. And I guess I realized at the moment that I really did love her. Because there was nothing to gain, and that didn't matter".
The author's style to me was actually quiet welcoming. I felt like a friend of mine had given me their diary to read or someone was sending me letters on how their life was going. I never once thought that the way that Chbosky wrote the book was bad in any way. It is unique from other books I've read. Other books that I've read from the past do not feel like I have some connection with them. This book did in a way because of how Charlie had two senior friends and he is just starting out in high school. The same thing happened to me last year. Another reason why TPOBAW is unique is that I've never really read a book that deals with someone writing letters as the actually story. And last, this book actually made me cry at the end when I finally finished it. I felt many moving emotions that I've never felt before. The main characters practically are Charlie, Sam, and Patrick. Charlie is a laid back kind of boy who goes with what everyone else is doing, Sam is a little on the wild side and loves to have a good time, and Patrick is just like Charlie in the way he likes to kick back and just prepare himself for what life is going to hit him with. The characters made me enjoy the book for the way they acted. The setting of this book is a boy named Charlie starts writing letters to his "friend" on all of the situations that are going on in his life. The setting affects the conflict within the book. Because Charlie just needs to get all of his emotions and feelings out to someone but not someone he personally knows. This book connects to a personal issue I had about 5 months ago when graduation occurred. One of my really good friends had graduated and just like Charlie, it made me really upset. Another connection would be that I do keep a diary and write in it every once in awhile.
Yes, I would recommend this to ANYONE in the world! I love this book so much that I would buy all of my friends copies and make them read it, that's how much this book is really worth reading. If you ever need a quick book to read on any circumstances, I suggest you read The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

9/11 Inference

America has decided to rebuild the WTC because we are trying to symbolize the fact that we are still standing strong after the 9/11 attack in 2001 and that we can try our best to ensure our fellow citizens safety. What makes this better than the old WTC towers is the new safety updates that have been planned for this new skyscraper. This building is going to have concrete walls that can withstand "three times as much pressure as any other NYC skyscrapers," meaning that this WTC is going to be stronger and is going to try to lesson the damage that a possible terrorists attack will cause. This will be a good thing since the walls of the previous WTC were not strong enough to fight against the damage. New elevators have been set to go 23 mph and only take about 45 seconds to reach the top. There will be 450, 000 gallons of water running through the entire building to ensure that in case there is another plane that crashes into the structure that the pipes will try their best to deteriorate the roaring fires.
We, as a nation, have symbolized our patriotism in this building by constructing the WTC tower at 1,776 feet which is the year that our nation declared it's independence from Great Britain. To remember the twin towers, old WTC, there is even a glass enclosure that will be place at the height of the 1st tower and an observation deck will be placed at the height where the 2nd tower reached

Lindsey's Reading Bucket List

1. Forever Young - by One Direction: I would like to read this book because of the fact that I am a big fan of One Direction and I would read anything they write and publish. I've read the reviews of this book and all of the people, Directioners or not, said it was fabulous and that they would recommend it to anyone who is interested.
2. Thirteen Reasons Why - by Jay Asher: This book sounded interesting to me because of the storyline. Plus I would really like to find out what the peoples reactions were when they got the tapes that explained why she killed herself. Also I have guy and girl friends that have enjoyed this book which is a big advantage for me since not very many guys like to read girl type books.
3. Fifty Shades of Grey - by E. L. James: Most of my friends have recommended this book to me. Even though it is very 'inappropriate' they said that the writing was very good and well thought out. I know that this is not a school approved book so I suppose I will have to read it at home and home only.
4. The Mortal Instruments Series - by Cassandra Clare: I'm really interested in vampire/demon/werewolf story-lines. Especially if they have a love plot in them somewhere. This series really caught my eye due to the fact that Ms. Gillmore explained it so well and detailed. The book cover may not be so entreaging but you know what they say Never Judge a Book by it's Cover. .
5. Identical - by Ellen Hopkins: My friend let me read little bits and pieces of her copy and I found it very interesting. I love reading Ellen Hopkins' books, they're so descriptive on how a messed up teenagers life would be.
6. The Perks of Being a Wallflower - by Stephen Chbosky: Even though my closest friend said that this book was very boring to her, I have heard in many cases that the book is actually brilliant and wonderful. Since this book is going to be shown in theater's soon I must read the book first in order to get better details of what I will be seeing on the big screen. When I did see the movie trailer I thought that this book seemed quiet interesting since the movie did, and never forget to always read the book before you watch the movie.
7. Luna - by Julie Anne Peters: This storyline caught my attention when I had heard that it was about a gender confused boy on whether not he wanted to be a man or a woman. I would really like to learn more on his decision he makes on if he wants to be a girl or a boy. The other thing that got my attention to read this is the fact that the boy's name is Liam and one of the guys in my favorite band is named Liam.
8. Tilt - by Ellen Hopkins: Like I have said before I looooooove Ellen Hopkins' books so I would love to add this one to my reading list due to the fact that every book I've read by her is dramatic and I am addicted to dramatic books.
9. The Fault in Our Stars - by John Green: Since this book is about cancer patients and I am interested in the medical field, I believe this will be very dramatic; my favorite type of genre. I've also heard that this book also consists a love story and in my eyes no book is complete unless it has some type of love story!
10. The Mediator Series - by Meg Cabot: Stories that deal with ghost and love are always good reads to me. My friend who is really into the same thing as me told me that she has read this series and has even compared it to the Harry Potter series. To me that seems like this book must be 100% wroth reading!

Satanic Titanic

It is now 12:23 p.m., April 15th, 1912. My name is Mollie Cobb and I was a 2nd class passenger on the Titanic. I have just gotten word that our captain, Captain Smith, knew there were ice reports and didn't slow down speed or change his direction. Thanks to him I had to leave my husband that I had just married behind. He is dead now thanks to that jerk. I will never forgive him for this. Him and the stupid crew. Thanks to them our boat did not go back and help save those poor souls left to freeze in the ocean. We only had 12 souls on our boat including crew. I know that if we went back that my husband would still be alive..

Forgive a Nazi?

In the book The Sunflower by Simon Wiesenthal a SS man named Karl asks a "Jew" for forgiveness for his sin in Dnepropetrovsk. This "Jew" is Simon. I believe that Karl should be forgiven because everyone makes sins, horrible or not so horrible, and God views them all as if they were all equally bad. Karl didn't know he was going to kill all of those people but he was given an order to obey and he did so.
"Believe me, I would be ready to suffer worse and longer pains if by that means I could bring back the dead, at Dnepropetrovsk...". This was said by Karl himself. In my opinion, Karl did not want to kill those poor innocent people but he was forced to by his commander. Who knows if he hadn't had done what he was told to. He might have been killed and his loved ones back home would have as well. Also, he feels so much guilt because he was not born a murderer. He was born a Catholic and enjoyed his faith. Deep down inside, he never wanted to kill anyone.
"I know that what I have told you is terrible. In the long nights while I have been waiting for death, time in time again I have longed to talk about it to a Jew and beg forgiveness from him...". By saying this, I believe that Karl has already admitted to himself that he has done something wrong and he has spoken to God about it in his prayers. He just feels so guilty about it he needs to ask someone who belongs to the religion, in which he was forced to kill the believers, for their forgiveness. This way he will feel that everyone will have acceptance of him in every way they can.
